Beawar is a city situated in the Beawar District of Rajasthan, India. Located in the central region of the state amidst the Aravali hills, it is positioned approximately 70 kilometres from Ajmer and 184 kilometres southwest of the state capital, Jaipur. As of 2011, the city had a population of 151,152.
Historically, Beawar served as the financial capital of the Ajmer-Merwara state of Rajputana and was a significant center for trade, particularly in raw cotton. While it once hosted various cotton presses and the Krishna cotton mills, the city's modern economy is diverse. Current major industries include textiles, wooden furniture, plastic products, machine tools, and mineral-based units. Notably, Beawar is the largest producer of cement in northern India and serves as the home of Shree Cement.
