Qadian is a town and municipal council located in the Gurdaspur district of Punjab, India. It is situated approximately 18 kilometres north-east of Batala city and lies to the north-east of Amritsar.
The town is notable as the birthplace of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, who founded the Ahmadiyya movement within Islam. Qadian served as the headquarters for this religious movement until the Partition of India in 1947.
