Goraya is a city located in the Jalandhar district and Tehsil of Punjab, India. It is situated between Jalandhar and a stretch of National Highway 44, also known as the Grand Trunk Road.
Historically, Goraya was recognized as "The Manchester of Punjab" due to its prominence in manufacturing foundry objects, bearings, and other steel products prior to the 1990s. The city continues to manufacture ball bearings and grass cutting machines (toka), and it serves as a location for offices belonging to the gear-making company Guru Nanak Auto GNA.
The urban infrastructure includes both government and private schools, though there is currently no college available within the city.
