Tuensang is a town situated in the northeastern region of the Indian state of Nagaland. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Tuensang District and has a recorded population of 36,774.
The town was established in 1947 to facilitate the administration of the North Eastern Frontier Agency (NEFA). This former agency encompassed several areas that now constitute the present-day districts of Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Noklak, and Shamator.
