Vijayapura is a town located in the Devanahalli taluk of the Bengaluru North district in the Indian state of Karnataka. While it is currently known as Vijayapura, the area retains its historical identity through local nomenclature.
The town was formerly known as Vadigenahalli. Despite the official name change to Vijayapura, many local villagers continue to refer to the location by its original name, Vadigenahalli.
