Sindhanur is a city and the taluk headquarter of Sindhanur taluk, located in the Raichur District of Karnataka, India. The region is characterized by its cultivable black soil and its proximity to the Tungabhadra River, which provides water for irrigation via a left bank canal.
Known as the Paddy Granary of Raichur, Sindhanur produces paddy rice twice a year, specifically growing varieties such as Sona Masuri and Basmati. Due to intensive year-round agricultural activities, the city is notable as a major hub for tractor sales in Asia. The local government is administered by a city municipal council.
