Navalgund, also known as Navalagunda or Navilagunda, is a panchayat town located in the Dharwad district of the Indian state of Karnataka. The name Navilagunda translates to "hill of peacocks."
The town is primarily recognized for its production of Navalagunda durries. These traditional mats have been officially accorded a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, specifically designated as GI tag number 51.
