Mudhol is a city located in the Bagalkote District in northern Karnataka, a state in southern India. Formerly known as "Muduvolalu," the city is situated approximately 60 km (37 mi) from the district headquarters of Bagalkot and 25 km (16 mi) from the subdivision of Jamakhandi.
The region is historically significant for its wrestling traditions and was once ruled by the Ghorpade-Maratha royal family. Additionally, Mudhol is well known for a specific breed of dog called the Mudhol Hound.
