Machai refers to a city located in India. Additionally, in Greek mythology, the Machai (or Machae) are the collective personification of battle and war.
According to Hesiod's Theogony, the Machai are identified as children of Eris, the goddess of Strife. As personified abstractions, they represent the harmful consequences resulting from discord and strife, possessing no other identity beyond this allegorical role.
