Kushtagi is a municipality and taluk center located in the Koppal district of the Indian state of Karnataka. According to the 2021 census estimate, the taluk has a population of 353,142. The region is characterized by its red and black soil types.
The area is known for the popular cultivation of pomegranate fruits. Notable landmarks include a Durga Devi temple situated in the heart of the town and a large lake located approximately 4 kilometers to the west. This lake covers more than 300 acres and serves as the primary source of drinking water for the city.
Kushtagi is bordered by several neighboring locations, including Ilkal to the north, Gajendragad to the west, Hospet to the south, and Sindhanur to the east.
