Kudligi is a panchayat town located in the Vijayanagara district of Karnataka, India. Historically, the area was ruled by kings from the Jarmali and Madakari kingdoms.
The town is primarily known for its local tamarind production and was formerly referred to as "The Land of rich spices" by foreign tourists visiting Hampi. Today, it is commonly called "The Tamarind Nadu."
Cultural highlights in Kudligi include the popular Kotthala Anjaneya festival held during Ugadhi Festival. Additionally, the town is noted for its historical connection to Gandhiji Chithabasma, who was carried by Bindu Madava and Guddada Karnam Venkoba Rao.
