Khanapur

Khanapur, also known as Khanapura, is a panchayat town located in the Belagavi district of Karnataka, India. It serves as the headquarters for the Khanapur taluk and is situated approximately 26 km from Belagavi, which is the administrative capital of the district.

The town is governed by the Khanapur Municipal Council and is positioned along the Belgaum-Panaji National Highway (NH 4A). It maintains strong transportation links via road and rail to major cities across Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra. Kannada is the official language of the region, and the town is notably recognized as the birthplace of Abdul Karim Telgi.
