Gokak, also known as Gōkāka, is a taluka headquarters located in the Belagavi district of Karnataka state, India. The city is situated approximately 70 km from Belagavi at the confluence of the Ghataprabha and Markandeya rivers.
According to the 2021 census, the population of Gokak is approximately 253,000. It holds the second highest GDP in the Belagavi district, following the city of Belagavi. Kannada is the primary language spoken by the local population.
