Gajendragad, also known locally as Gada, is a Town Municipal Council city located in the Gadag district of Karnataka, India. Situated at an average elevation of 643 metres (2109 feet), the town has a recorded population of 32,359 according to the 2011 Census data.
The name Gajendragad is derived from a combination of the words for elephant and fort. The city serves as a pilgrimage destination primarily due to its Kalakaleshwara temple. It is positioned approximately 55 kilometers from the district headquarters of Gadag, 110 kilometers from Hubli, 200 kilometers from Belgaum, and 450 kilometers from the state capital, Bangalore.
