Chikmagalur

Chikmagalur, formerly known as Kiriya-Muguli, is a city, taluka, and the headquarters of the Chikmagalur district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is situated on the foothills of the Chandra Drona Mountain range within the Western Ghats.

The region is a popular tourist destination known for its tropical rainforests, coffee estates, and favorable hill station climate. To the north of the city lies Baba Budangiri, a site where it is believed that Baba Budan first introduced coffee to India.
