Chamarajanagar (also known as Chamarajanagara) is a city and administrative headquarters located in the southernmost part of the state of Karnataka, India. It serves as the primary urban center for the Chamarajanagar district.
The district was officially established on August 15, 1997, when it was carved out of the larger original Mysore District. Its geographical position defines it as one of the southernmost regions within the state.
