Bagalkot is a city located in the state of Karnataka, India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Bagalkot district. The city is situated on a branch of the Ghataprabha River.
According to the provisional results of the 2011 national census of India, the population of the urban agglomeration was 111,933. The city covers an area of 49.06 square kilometres (18.94 sq mi) and maintains an average elevation of 532 metres (1,745 ft) above mean sea level.
