Churachandpur, locally known as Lamka, is the second largest town in the Indian state of Manipur. It serves as the district headquarters for the Churachandpur district.
The name Churachandpur was transferred from Songpi, the region's former headquarters, and honors Churachand Singh, who was the former maharaja of the Manipur princely state. While "Churachandpur" is the official designation, local residents reject it as a colonial imposition and prefer to use the native name Lamka.
