Srivardhan

Shrivardhan is a city, subdistrict (tehsil), and local governing body located in the Raigad district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Situated on a peninsula, the town serves as a notable seaside destination characterized by its numerous beaches and proximity to other coastal areas such as Diveagar Beach and Kondivali Beach.

The town is historically significant as the birthplace of Balaji Vishwanath, who served as the first Peshwa from 1713 to 1720. He was also the father of Bajirao I and held the position of Deshmukh in Shrivardhan. Due to its coastal geography, the area has developed into a popular resort destination for visitors from across Maharashtra throughout the year.
