Shrivardhan

Shrivardhan is a city, subdistrict, and local governing body located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. Situated on a peninsula, the town serves as a coastal destination characterized by its numerous beaches and proximity to other popular seaside locations, including Diveagar Beach and Kondivali Beach.

The town is historically significant as the birthplace of Balaji Vishwanath, who served as the first Peshwa from 1713 to 1720. He was also the father of Bajirao I and held the position of Deshmukh in Shrivardhan. In contemporary times, the area has developed into a seaside resort destination that attracts visitors from across Maharashtra throughout the year.
