Sangli is a city located in south-western India and serves as the headquarters of the Sangli District in Maharashtra. Situated on the banks of the river Krishna, it is positioned approximately 376 km from Mumbai, 230 km from Pune, and 638 km from Bengaluru.
The city is widely recognized as the "Turmeric City of India," serving as Asia's largest hub for the production and global trade of turmeric. It is also a major center for agriculture, specifically known for its grapes, raisins, jaggery, and sugar production. The region hosts more than 30 sugar factories, including the largest sugar factory in Asia, and contains the largest raisin market in Asia.
