Pimpri-Chinchwad, also referred to as PCMC, is a city located in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Situated at an altitude of 590 meters (1,940 feet) above sea level, it lies approximately 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) northwest of the historic city of Pune and 135 kilometers (84 miles) southeast of Mumbai.
The city ranks as the fifth largest in Maharashtra and the eighteenth largest in India. It is recognized as one of the most rapidly developing suburban areas in the country, having emerged as the third fastest-growing city in India. Pimpri-Chinchwad is notably characterized by its significant automotive, IT, and manufacturing industries.
