Palghar is a prominent town and municipal council located in the Konkan division of Maharashtra, India. It serves as the administrative capital of the Palghar district, a role it has held since 2014. The town is situated in the western part of the state within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Geographically, Palghar is positioned approximately 87 kilometers north of Mumbai and about 35 kilometers north of Virar. It lies roughly 24 kilometers west of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway at Manor. The town serves as a key location on the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, which facilitates travel along the busy Mumbai-Ahmedabad rail corridor.
