Mahad

Mahad is a city located in the Raigad district within the North Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. It is situated approximately 108.5 km from the district headquarters of Alibag and 167 km from Mumbai.

The city is notable for its historical significance as the site of Raigad Fort, which served as the capital of the Maratha Empire during the era of Shivaji Maharaj. Additionally, Mahad is recognized as the location of the revolutionary Mahad Satyagraha, an event launched by Chautidar Tale in the wake of modern India.
