Kasara is a census town situated in the Thane district of Maharashtra, India. It is strategically positioned along the busy Mumbai–Nashik route, which serves as one of the four primary corridors leading into Mumbai.
The town is a significant railway hub served by a station on the Mumbai Suburban Railway. It marks the final stop in the north-east sector of the Central Line; consequently, the abbreviation "N" is used for Kasara Local to signify it as the North side Local's Last Station. Additionally, the area is well known for the winding Thal Ghat, also referred to as the Kasara Ghats.
