Karmala is a city and taluka located in the Solapur district of Maharashtra, India. It functions as a municipal council and serves as a notable religious destination within the region.
The city is primarily known for the Kamala Bhavani Temple, which was constructed by Rao Raje Nimbalkar in 1727. Built in the Hemdpanthi style, the temple features entry doors in the East, South, and North directions. It is considered to be the second seat of Tulajapur Tulaja Bhavani.
The architecture of the Kamala Bhavani Temple is characterized by the recurring significance of the number 96; it includes a well with 96 steps, 96 pillars, and 96 pictures and "overyas" on its top. The temple hosts the Navaratra festival with great devotion, while an annual yatra takes place between Kartik Purnima and Chaturthi.
