Ajara

Adjara, also known as Achara, is a political-administrative region located in the southwestern corner of Georgia. It occupies a coastal position along the Black Sea near the base of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, situated north of Turkey.

The Autonomous Republic of Adjara serves as an important tourist destination and is home to approximately 402,929 people across an area of 2,880 km2. The region's capital is Batumi, which is the second most populous city in Georgia.
