Vypin is a city located in the Indian state of Kerala. It consists of a group of islands that form part of the larger city of Kochi.
The island serves as a barrier between the Arabian Sea to the west and the Kerala backwaters to the east, which are formed by various distributaries of the Periyar river. The northernmost point of Vypin is situated on the estuary of the Periyar river in Muziris (Kodungallur), while the southernmost end lies at the mouth of the Cochin backwaters in Kalamukku near Fort Vypin.
