Thrippunithura, also spelled Tripunithura, is a prominent historical and residential region located in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. Situated approximately 7 km from the city center, it served as the capital of the erstwhile Kingdom of Cochin.
The area remains significant for its royal heritage, as descendants of the Cochin royal family continue to reside there. It is home to the Hill Palace, which functioned as the official residence of the Maharaja of Cochin. The region is also recognized for its historical culture and is globally known for the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple and its annual Vrishchikoltsawam festival.
