Thenhipalam is a census town and panchayat located in the Tirurangadi taluk of the Malappuram district in Kerala, India. According to the 2001 census, the town has a population of 27,273, consisting of 13,293 males and 13,980 females. As of the 2011 Census, Thenhipalam forms a portion of the Malappuram metropolitan area.
The panchayat is characterized by several distinct areas, with Panambra serving as its headquarters and Chelari acting as the primary commercial center. The small town of Kohinoor is situated between Chelari and the University of Calicut. The university, which was the first established in the Malabar region, is located in the north-west part of the panchayat.
