Thalassery, also known as Tellicherry, is a city and municipality situated on the Malabar Coast in the Kannur district of Kerala, India. It is bordered by the districts of Mahe and Kozhikode.
The Thalassery Heritage City covers an area of 23.98 square kilometres and has a population of just under 100,000 as of the 2011 census. The city's altitude ranges from 2.5 to 30 metres above mean sea-level. It is located approximately 25 km from Vadakara, 15 km from Mahé, and 22 km from Kannur.
