Kottakkal is a major municipal town located in the Malappuram district of Kerala, India. It consists of 32 wards and serves as one of the four municipalities within Tirur Taluk, alongside Tirur, Valanchery, and Tanur. The town is situated along the Mumbai–Kanyakumari National Highway 66 and forms a part of the Malappuram metropolitan area.
The city is recognized as a growing commercial, educational, and healthcare hub in South Malabar. It is most notably known for housing the Arya Vaidya Sala, which is considered one of the leading Ayurvedic health centers globally.
