Irinjalakuda is a municipal town located in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India. It serves as the headquarters for several administrative and governmental bodies, including the Irinjalakuda Revenue Division, the Mukundapuram Taluk, and the Thrissur Rural Police.
The town is notable for housing the highest concentration of law-enforcement, judicial, and administrative offices in the district after the city of Thrissur. It is also well known for its cultural and historical significance as the site of the Koodalmanikyam Temple. The temple's history dates back to the ninth century CE and is associated with the Thachudaya Kaimals, who held princely status until 1971.
