Haripad is a municipality located in the Onattukara region of the Alappuzha District in Kerala, India. It is situated along National Highway 66 between the cities of Alappuzha and Kollam. The town is bordered by Pallippad, Veeyapuram, and Karuvatta to the east; Kumarapuram and Karthikappally to the west; and Cheppad to the south.
The municipality is recognized as a cultural hub known for its traditions in art, music, dance, drama, and snake boats. It is popularly referred to as Kshetranagari because it possesses the highest number of temples in Kerala, with the Haripad Temple and Mannarasala Temple being the most prominent among them.
In addition to its cultural significance, Haripad is home to industrial infrastructure. The Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Plant, which is one of the largest thermal power plants in Kerala, is operated by the NTPC and located within the municipality.
