Adichanallur is an archaeological site located in the Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated approximately 15 km from Korkai, which served as the capital of the Early Pandyan Kingdom.
The site is significant for numerous important archaeological finds dating back thousands of years. Excavations conducted in 2004 revealed samples belonging to the period between 1000 BC and 600 BC, while a 2005 excavation unearthed approximately 169 clay urns containing human skeletons dated to at least 3,800 years ago. Additionally, research on copper metal remains from the site has been associated with dates as early as 1500 BC, though researchers emphasize carbon dating over OSL dating to ensure accuracy and reduce error margins.
