Kulgam, also known as Kolgom in Kashmiri, is a town located in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Kulgam district, which was established on April 2, 2007, following its separation from the former Anantnag district.
The town is situated approximately 67 km (42 mi) from Srinagar, the summer capital of the region. According to the 2011 census, Kulgam had a population of 23,584 residents, consisting of 12,605 males and 10,979 females. The town is organized into 16 electoral wards.
