Anantnag, also known as Islamabad, is a city located in the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir region of India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Anantnag district within the disputed Kashmir region.
The city is situated approximately 53 kilometres from Srinagar, which is the capital of the union territory. Anantnag is recognized as the third largest city in Jammu and Kashmir, following Srinagar and Jammu. It has an urban agglomerate population of 159,838 and a municipal limit population of 109,433.
