Kalayat is a town located in the Kaithal district of Haryana, India. Historically, the area was known as Kapilayat or Kapilayatana, names derived from the Vedic sage Kapila.
The town is notable for housing the Kalayat Ancient Bricks Temple Complex, which dates back to the 8th century. Local legend suggests that after the submergence of Dwaraka, Arjuna traveled toward Hastinapura with women and children via Kaithal.
