Jamnagar is a city located in the Indian state of Gujarat. It serves as the headquarters of the Jamnagar district and is situated approximately 337 kilometres (209 mi) west of Gandhinagar, the state capital.
The city lies just to the south of the Gulf of Kutch. Historically, it served as the capital of the Nawanagar princely state during the period of the British Raj.
