Gandhinagar is the capital city of the Indian state of Gujarat and serves as the administrative center for the Gandhinagar district. It is situated in western India, positioned approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) north of Ahmedabad.
The city is located at a strategic west-central point within the industrial corridor that connects the megacities of Delhi and Mumbai.
