Gandhidham is located in the eastern part of the Kutch district in the state of Gujarat, India. It serves as the largest and most populous city within the Kachchh (Kutch) District and ranks as the eighth most populous city in the state of Gujarat according to the 2011 Census.
The city was established in the early 1950s specifically for the resettlement of Sindhi Hindu refugees from Sindh, Pakistan, following the partition of India. It was named in honor of M K Gandhi and has since developed into an economic capital for the region. Today, Gandhidham is a growing area for families and retirees, as well as a popular destination for business meetings and conventions.
