Chhaya

India

Chhaya, also known as Chaya or Savarna, is a figure in Hindu mythology rather than a geographical city. She is recognized as the goddess of shadow and serves as the consort of Surya, the Hindu sun god.

According to mythological tradition, Chhaya was born from the shadow of Sanjna, who was the first wife of Surya. She replaced Sanjna in her household after Sanjna temporarily left her husband, becoming his primary companion during that period.
