Barpeta

Barpeta is a town and the district headquarters of the Barpeta district, located in the state of Assam, India. Situated approximately 90 kilometres (56 mi) northwest of Guwahati, it serves as one of the major cities within Western Assam.

The city is frequently referred to as Satra Nagari of Assam because of the numerous Vaishnavite Satras situated in its vicinity. Additionally, Barpeta is notable for hosting the largest Holi celebration in Northeast India.
