Vuyyuru

Vuyyuru is a town located in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It serves as a Nagar panchayat and functions as the headquarters for the Vuyyuru Mandal. The town is currently developing as a neighborhood of Vijayawada, which is situated approximately 30 km away.

Historically, the area was associated with the Nuzvid Estate. Meka Rangaiah Appa Rao, who belonged to the Velama caste, served as the raja of Vuyyuru. During his tenure, he commissioned the construction of the Vuyyuru Sivalayam, a temple located next to a fort.
