Tanuku

Tanuku is a town located in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It serves as a regional commercial center and has historically functioned as an important administrative hub for the area.

During the British rule in the 1850s, Tanuku served as a taluk headquarters within the Godavari district under the Madras Presidency. The town further developed its status as a local administrative and commercial center during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is also recognized for its early educational institutions.
