Podili is a municipality town located in the Markapuram district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It serves as the official mandal headquarters for the Podili mandal.
The town is also known by the name Prudulapuri. Historically, before British rule, it was referred to as "Prudulapuri," a name that translates to "Head quarters of the universe." This designation is associated with purana references related to Prudhu Chakravarthi.
