Nellore, also spelled as Nelluru, is a city located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Situated on the banks of the Penna River, it serves as the administrative headquarters for the Nellore district, the Nellore Urban mandal, the Nellore Rural mandal, and the Nellore revenue division.
The city is the fourth most populous urban center in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Geographically, it is positioned approximately 170 kilometers north of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and lies at various distances from other major regional hubs, including Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bangalore.
