Nandyal, also commonly referred to as Nandyala, is a city located in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Nandyal district and functions as a Municipal corporation. The town is also the headquarters of the Nandyal mandal within the Nandyal revenue division.
The district was officially established as a separate entity on April 4, 2022, following its formation from the larger Kurnool district. Geographically, the city sits at an elevation of approximately 203 meters above sea level and is situated within a landscape surrounded by the Nallamala and Erramala mountain ranges.
