Mandapeta is a second-grade municipality located in the East Godavari district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It was officially established on October 1, 1958, and sits at a mean elevation of approximately 15.48 meters above mean sea level.
The town's original name was Mandavyapuram, which is derived from Sage Mandukya. Geographically, the municipality is situated at coordinates 16.520 N and 81.560 E.
