Guntur

Guntur, natively spelled as Gunturu, is a city located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It serves as the administrative headquarters of the Guntur district and is situated on the Eastern Coastal Plains. The city is positioned approximately 14 miles (23 km) southwest of Amaravati, the state capital, and forms part of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region.

Occupying an area of 159.46 square kilometres, Guntur was the third-most populous city in the state according to the 2011 Census of India, with a population of 743,354. It is considered the heartland of Andhra Pradesh, located centrally within the state to serve as a connecting point between different regions.
